Pho Duy Restaurant, nestled at 1996 Kingsway in Vancouver, BC, is a hidden gem that has won the hearts of local pho enthusiasts. This unassuming eatery, often described as a “hole in the wall,” boasts an impressive reputation for having some of the best pho in the city. Diners rave about the deep, flavorful broth that characterizes their offerings—especially the chicken pho, which many recommend as the standout dish. Customers like Jim Fong and Ng Alan have praised it for its generous portions, with some claiming that the chicken is so plentiful it feels like half a bird in every bowl. The restaurant offers a limited but focused menu, featuring just chicken and beef pho—both of which have their distinct loyal followings. For those drawn to bold flavors, the spicy beef pho is a must-try. Alongside the pho, don't miss out on their authentic Vietnamese iced coffee, though some reviewers suggest it could be more generously filled. Despite the incredible food, be prepared for waits, especially during peak hours. However, many agree that the quality of the dishes, coupled with friendly service, significantly enhances the overall experience. While it's cash-only and has limited hours, the value and satisfaction derived from Pho Duy make it worth every minute of your wait.

Hands down the best Pho in Vancouver. This hole in the wall joint have (by far) the best broth in town. Only three items available and we ordered them all . Chicken, Beef Pho & ice coffee. Chicken is by far the best of the two Pho that they have. I swear there must have been 1/2 a chicken in my bowl. Beef was a clear 2nd with a lot of beef and sliced beef balls. If you’re here alone and trying this place for the first time; take the chicken. There wasn’t that much ice coffee in my drink. It was topped full with ice to give it the illusion that it was a lot. Finished the coffee in 5 sips. Total cost for 2 bowls of pho and 1 ice coffee? 39. Alittle on the expensive side but worth it. Will probably won’t get the coffee next time. This is a cash only place that opens from 10:30am - 2:30pm.

Best tasting Pho place in Vancouver - Authentic and tasty Specially with the chunk of meat/bones is the best. I suggest ordering spicy beef , so yummy! They only have 2 options, chicken or beef Street parking available. Waiting could be longer if you have more than 2 people. Always busy here

Staff was kind and friendly, always busy, also quality of food really good! I ordered beef pho. Taste of broth was really deep, noodle was so chewy and beef was so delicious, I personally recommend to put more sriracha if you want to enjoy noodle and beef. It was really good experience to visit there and I willing to go there again.

Hole in the wall pho restaurant ran by a super nice owner and friendly staff. The chicken pho is the way to go and I would even argue they deserve a Michelin star for the consistency of their broth and fresh chicken that they use every weekend. They run out quick on weekends and prepare for a wait if you come after 1 pm. The special spicy beef pho is also recommended if you don’t like chicken pho. It’s my favourite pho restaurant in town. Also recommend the Vietnamese ice coffee, it’s one of the most authentic Vietnamese ice coffee in town!

Love this place. The pho is authentic and top-notch. We ordered chicken noodle soup and beef soup. Both chicken broth and beef broth are authentic Vietnamese food. The down side for this place is waiting time. We had to wait 45 mins to have a seat. I hope the owner can speed up a little bit for the waiting time.

Pho Duy is a hidden gem serving what I can confidently call the best pho I’ve had anywhere in the world—including Vietnam. Their menu is simple—beef pho, chicken pho, and spicy versions of both—but every bowl is a masterclass in flavour. The spicy beef broth is my favorite and especially outstanding: rich, deep, spicy, and perfectly balanced with a hint of sourness. The portions are massive and loaded with tender, high-quality beef. Their business model says it all—everything is made fresh in the morning, and once it’s sold, they close for the day. It’s a no-compromise approach to quality, and it shows. The Vietnamese coffee is bold and smooth. This is a family-run spot that’s packed with loyal regulars for good reason. The service is warm, the food is authentic, and the experience feels like home cooking straight from Vietnam. A must-visit.

This place is the bomb for Vietnamese Noodle Soup. Clear broth and fresh ingredients. Don’t look for a menu because there isn’t one. They only offer two choices: beef or chicken noodle soups. Both are solid choices. Your can decide spicey or non-spicy. You might score if you ask for a beef bone to be added to your bowl and only if it’s available. Cash only and 3 free parking spots in the back.

The pho shop density here rivals Hong Kong's Circle K convenience stores – you literally can't walk two blocks without bumping into one. This particular spot is run by Vietnamese owners. Before the renovation, this place looked like the kind of authentic dive where movie shootouts happen. After the renovation... well, let's just say it went from "shootout just happened" to "shootout might happen any minute." But hey, that's part of the charm! **The Menu:** Two pho options – beef or chicken. Clear broth or spicy. Vietnamese coffee. That's it. No fusion nonsense, just pure Vietnamese soul food. **The Magic:** The broth is the star – rich, aromatic, clearly simmered with love. The homestyle quality makes you feel like you're eating at grandma's kitchen table. **The Rules:** Cash only, closes at 2 PM sharp. This is what authentic Vietnamese comfort food looks like – no frills, maximum flavor, and enough character to write a movie script about. Bring cash, embrace the atmosphere, and let that incredible broth do all the talking.
